Brown was attempting to make an arrest during the August protests but was attacked. His injuries left him in critical condition. Ferguson city officials released body cam video and surveillance footage from the protests outside the police station marking 10 years since Michael Brown’s death, SpectrumLocalNews reports.
The videos reportedly shows the suspect, 28-year-old Elijah Gantt of East St. Louis, Ill., charge at Officer Brown on a sidewalk outside the police station after protesters attempted to pull down a perimeter fence. One of the other videos released appears to show at least Gantt on top of the officer on the sidewalk for a short period of time.
Gantt is charged with assault of a special victim, resisting arrest and property damage. Four other people face charges related to the protests as well.
