Authorities released bodycam and dashcam footage Friday from an officer-involved shooting in Aurora, Illinois, that followed a home invasion call in Plano and a police chase last month.
The incident began on the night of Sept. 27 when Plano police responded to reports of a home invasion and shots fired. When police tried to stop a car leaving the scene, the driver fled, leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a pursuit, Fox 32 reports.
The pursuit ended in Aurora at an intersection.
Dashcam video from the scene shows the suspect, identified by authorities as Nicholas Novak, exited the vehicle with a shotgun, opened fire at a deputy from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and a Plano officer. The two law enforcement officers returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect.
No officers were injured during the incident.
The suspect reportedly killed his father, Russell Novak, 70, during the home invasion.
