A Clayton County, Georgia, Police officer was injured Friday when a tree fell on his patrol vehicle during storm conditions caused by Hurricane Helene.
In a Facebook statement the agency said that Officer Soumah was driving home after an “intense” morning shift when the tree fell on the vehicle.
Clayton County police said Officer Soumah suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for evaluation. “It’s truly a blessing that he wasn’t driving faster, as the tree could have landed directly on the cab,” police said.
The vehicle was destroyed.
