The Phoenix Police Department says one of two officers wounded in a Tuesday shooting remains in critical condition. Another Phoenix officer who was shot has been released from the hospital.
Police said Officer Zane Coolidge remains in the hospital in critical condition, and Officer Matthew Haney is recovering at home. Phoenix police say Officer Coolidge is continuing to put up a brave fight, AZ Family reports.
Officer Coolidge is a five-year veteran of the department, and Officer Haney has been with the Phoenix Police for two years.
Officer Haney came to Phoenix Police as a lateral hire after spending seven years as an officer with a department in Northern California. Police say his body armor prevented more serious injury.
