Georgia Deputy Critically Wounded Serving Warrant

A Carroll County (Georgia) Sheriff's deputy was shot while executing a search warrant and rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning in critical condition, the sheriff's office said.

The wounded deputy has been identified as Taylor Bristow. The sheriff's office said Bristow is out of surgery. He's also had a CT scan and has been moved to the ICU.

The suspect is dead, officials further reported.

A post on Facebook by the Carroll County Sheriff's Office said the deputy was serving a Georgia Bureau of Investigation search warrant when the shooting occurred.

The GBI confirmed that the warrant was for sexual exploitation as part of an ongoing investigation at the agency.
