The suspect in the death of a Smyth County (Virginia) Sheriff’s deputy and the shooting of another deputy has died, according to Commonwealth’s Attorney Phillip Blevins.
Timothy Wayne Goodman, 65, had been charged with the aggravated murder of Deputy Hunter Reedy. He was also charged with four counts of attempted aggravated murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with the shooting on August 9, 2024. Deputy Michael Fedorchuk was also shot, and is recovering at home, WDBJ reports.
Goodman died in the early morning hours of August 16, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center, according to Blevins, a week after being shot by deputies during a traffic stop. He was shot after he allegedly shot and killed Reedy and shot Fedorchuk.
