A Washington, D.C., police officer was shot while driving to work on Monday, and two persons of interest were detained in Prince George’s County, Maryland, authorities said.
The officer was shot near the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District station. The officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Fox News reports.
Police said the officer, who was driving their personal car and in plain clothes, saw another driver ahead of them driving erratically. That car reportedly stopped and someone got out and fired at the officer.
The officer drove to the station for help and was taken to a local hospital.
