Volusia County (Florida) Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 16-year-old male this week after he brandished a handgun in a crowd of spring breakers on New Smyrna Beach.
While the shore was packed with spring breakers Thursday, a fight broke out between a group of young men just north of Flagler Avenue, the Sheriff's Office explained in a Facebook post.
The crowd scattered when 16-year-old Felixander Solis-Guzman raised a handgun at another boy, causing deputies to flood the scene, as seen on Volusia County Sheriff's Office body cam footage.
Deputies charged the teen, who immediately started running, gun in hand, toward the shoreline, CBS 12 reports.
The video shows deputies ordering the teen to drop the gun. He finally did so, dropping the pistol and a bag into the surf.
It was later uncovered the bag Solis-Guzman flung into the sea was full of 20 small plastic baggies of marijuana, VCSO stated.
Solis-Guzman, 16, had seven active warrants out of Orange County, VCSO reported.
