A Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper was killed early Saturday morning after his patrol SUV was struck by a speeding vehicle on Interstate 5 just north of Marysville.

In a news conference Saturday afternoon, WSP announced that 27-year-old Christopher Gadd from Pasco, Washington, was killed when a speeding driver hit his vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of the highway around 3 a.m.

In a news conference Saturday afternoon, WSP announced that 27-year-old Christopher Gadd from Pasco, Washington, was killed when a speeding driver hit his vehicle that was parked on the shoulder of the highway around 3 a.m.
A 32-year-old Lynnwood man was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide. He has been booked into the Snohomish County jail, MyNorthwest reports.
Trooper Gadd is survived by his wife and 2-year-old daughter, ODMP.org reports.
KIRO 7 reports that Gadd’s father is a current trooper with the WSP, serving in Bellevue and his sister is a state trooper in Texas.
