On Dec. 3, two NYPD officers from the 101st Precinct responded to a call of multiple stabbings at a residence. They were both stabbed by the suspect and the suspect was killed by one of the officers.
Officer Edmond Decio and Officer Richard Gonzalez responded to a residential area in Queens shortly after 5 a.m. Upon arrival they saw a man, later identified as 38-year-old Courtney Gordon, standing in front of the building. As the officers questioned him, Gordon pulled out a knife from his back pocket and attacked them both, police say.
Officer Decio drew his duty weapon and fired five shots.
The suspect was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Officer Decio was stabbed in the neck. Officer Gonzalez was stabbed in the temple. They were transported to a hospital and treated.
