The wounded deputy was transported to a local trauma center by ambulance. While the injuries are critical, they are deemed non-life-threatening.

An Alameda County (California) Sheriff’s deputy was shot and wounded during an eviction Wednesday afternoon. Two suspects were found dead Thursday morning of apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

The deputy was shot in the arm around 1:30 p.m. while serving an eviction in Union City, ABC7 reports.

Other responding deputies took the deputy from the scene. The wounded deputy was then transported to a local trauma center by ambulance. While the injuries are critical, they are deemed non-life-threatening.

After trying to negotiate with the suspects for several hours and obtaining search warrants, authorities entered the building and found the two suspects – a male and a female – dead, NBC reports.
