A Jonesboro, Arkansas, police officer braved the freezing temperatures to save a child from drowning in a frozen pond.

According to the incident report, on Saturday, Jan. 20, crews responded to a call around 10 a.m. about a child falling through ice on a pond, KAIT reports.

Body camera footage posted by the Jonesboro Police Department showed Officer Troy Ellison jumping into action when he first arrived at the scene.

“He quickly located the child, crawled onto the ice, and pulled the child to safety with the help of Lt. Shon Morris and members of the Jonesboro Fire Department,” officials said.
