Georgia Deputy Shot, Saved by Body Armor During Domestic Response

A Douglas County, Georgia, sheriff’s deputy was shot multiple times and saved by his ballistic vest during a domestic response Wednesday morning.

The deputy was hit once in the shoulder and twice in the vest during an exchange of gunfire with the suspect. The suspect was also wounded.

A woman inside the residence was also shot and a man was killed, Fox 5 reports.

The deputy and the suspect were transported to an area hospital.

The woman’s condition and the suspect’s condition were not reported.
