AZ Troopers Use Grappler to Stop Street Racing Suspect’s Car

On Saturday June 10, Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers and officers from the City of Mesa Police Department, the Phoenix Police Department, and the Tempe Police Department responded to a complaint of an intersection takeover in Mesa.

One of the drivers struck a pedestrian described by AZDPS as a “participant” and fled.

AZDPS said on Facebook “The suspect vehicle was located and an AZDPS sergeant successfully deployed the Grappler Police Bumper, netting one of the vehicle’s rear tires and bringing it to a safe stop.”

Two 17-year-old males, passenger and driver, were cited for street racing.
