A Clayton, Mo., jury convicted Kevin Johnson of first-degree murder earlier this week for the 2005 slaying of Kirkwood, Mo., police sergeant William McEntee.

The jury returned a verdict in a little more than four hours. Jurors must now decide whether Johnson spends the rest of his life in prison or is executed.

In videotaped testimony shown at the trial, Johnson admitted that he became enraged at police because they failed to save his brother Joseph "Bam Bam" Long after Long collapsed from a heart condition at their grandmother's home.

Later that day, Johnson walked up to Sgt. McEntee's patrol car, leaned into the passenger window, and fired at least seven shots.

Johnson was convicted of the murder following an earlier trial that ended in a hung jury.
