The sponsors of the 5.11 Challenge came together on the opening day of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference to sponsor the 25th Annual Boston Police Chase 5K Run. More than 800 runners showed up to run through historic Boston and across a recreated Boston Marathon finish line. The race also included a quick stop in Fenway Park for a photo opportunity at the Green Monster.
With the help of 5.11 Tactical staff and representatives from sponsors of the 5.11 Challenge, a five-star breakfast spread was provided for each runner and their supporters.
The 5.11 Challenge first sponsored the IACP 5K race last year when the convention was held in Miami. "We are excited to continue this as an annual event and are looking forward to New Orleans next year," says 5.11 Tactical CEO Dan Costa.
Sponsors of the 5.11 Challenge include 5.11 Tactical Series, Aimpoint, CamelBak, Dupont Teflon, Glock, First Choice Armor, Streamlight, Bianchi, Blackwater U.S.A., Eye Safety Systems, Ford, the National Rifle Association, Remington and Police Magazine.
For more information about the 5.11 Challenge visit www.511challenge.com. The 5.11 Challenge is open to all sworn police officers. Teams are randomly selected from all officers who have signed up for the chance to compete.
