A three-year Pittsburgh police officer is recovering from an attack where she suffered a broken nose, a concussion and facial lacerations during a physical confrontation that resulted in her shooting a suspect with an extensive criminal record.
The female officer, who has not been identified, responded to a report of an armed robbery near Schenley High School, KDKA reports.
Though she was called in as a backup unit, she was the first to arrive at the scene, where she was attacked by 20-year-old actor Ryan Davis. Authories said Davis had nine felonies involving six robbery and assault counts and several gun violations.
