3 Die, 3 Injured in University of Alabama Shooting
Three University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) employees were killed and three were wounded in a shooting Feb. 12. Five of the victims were faculty members and one was a staff member.

Dr. Amy Bishop, a Harvard-University trained neuroscientist and UAH biology professor is the suspected shooter and has been arrested. Her husband, Jim Anderson, chief science officer of Cherokee Labsystems in Huntsville, is also in custody but has not been charged. According to NBC affiliate WAFF, the suspect was in a meeting where she was told she would not receive tenure. She then pulled out a firearm and began shooting.
WHNT-TV reports that a local hospital is treating two men and a woman who were wounded.
The incident occurred on the third floor of Shelby Hall at about 4 p.m. The dorms were locked down about 10 minutes later.
No students were involved. Still, some students say they didn't receive E-mail alerts from the campus' emergency alert system or they received the messages more than an hour after the shooting.
Classes have been canceled for the evening and counseling is being offered.
