Safariland announced the expansion of its PROTECH line of IMPAC special threat plates. The line of IMPAC special threat plates can be quickly and easily inserted into the front and/or back external plate pockets of a concealable body armor carrier used by patrol, corrections, first responders and security officers. The IMPAC special threat plates are designed to be worn with concealable body armor for ballistic and/or stab protection against specific special threats.
All IMPAC plates are offered in four sizes: 5" x 8" - the standard size; 5" x 7" - for shorter torso lengths and/or female officers; 7" x 9" - for expanded torso protection; and, 10" x 12" - shooter's cut designed for greater mobility. In addition, Safariland has also released a new concealable carrier specifically designed to complement the line of new IMPAC plates. The FRP ("front and rear pockets") carrier gives officers the ability to add IMPAC plates within a concealable carrier platform, and is available in Safariland's ABA Universal AJ and Second Chance Apex concealable carriers.
