Michigan Man Kills Himself After Holding Deputy at Gunpoint
A 23-year-old man on probation for a weapons offense shot and killed himself on a Michigan roadway, after a tense stand-off with an officer who had pulled him over.
A 23-year-old man on probation for a weapons offense shot and killed himself on a Michigan roadway, after a tense stand-off with an officer who had pulled him over, the Battle Creek Enquirer reports.
William Cook can be heard on the Calhoun County deputy's patrol car video and audio recording saying he didn't want to return to prison, before pulling a concealed handgun and pointing it at the officer.
The officer had pulled over Cook for erratic driving. Cook told the deputy he had a suspended license and had been smoking marijuana.
Cook shot himself in the head with a stolen .45-caliber handgun, after the officer attempted to convince him not to return home to kill himself.
