Off-Duty Officer Shot During Movie Theater Robbery

Anthony Yip, 40, was waiting to buy a ticket at the Bridge theater, when a gunman attempted to rob the box office. Yip identified himself as an officer and attempted to stop the man, who opened fire, hitting Yip in the shoulder.

An off-duty Pennsylvania Capitol Police officer is recovering from a gunshot wound he sustained when he interrupted a robbery attempt at a Philadelphia movie theater, PennLive.com reports.

Anthony Yip, 40, was waiting to buy a ticket at the Bridge theater, when a gunman attempted to rob the box office. Yip identified himself as an officer and attempted to stop the man, who opened fire, hitting Yip in the shoulder.

Yip returned fire with his Sig Sauer .357 duty pistol, and may have hit the robbery suspect, who fled the scene.
