Members of Calumet City, Ind.'s Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 1 took their turn playing Santa's helpers Saturday.
For the 23rd consecutive year, police officers gave the reindeer a break and took part in the Santa Run by pulling the jolly old elf's' sleigh from house to house bringing Christmas cheer to families in need.
"It is a privilege to be able to help needy families at this time of year, and reminds us all of the true meaning of Christmas," Lodge 1 President Mitch Growe said.
The FOP assisted 15 families this year, including 45 children, with food baskets and Christmas gifts.
