Trainer Says Mehserle Was Trained In TASER Use

Former BART Police Officer Johannes Mehserle was given training that emphasized the importance of not confusing it with a duty weapon, a trainer with the agency testified on Wednesday, reports SFGate.com.

Stewart Lehman, a BART police officer who trained Mehserle on Dec. 3, 2008, to use Tasers, was called as a witness for Mehserle, who is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting of an unarmed Oscar Grant on Jan. 1, 2009 in Oakland.
