Detectives questioning a "person of interest" in the killing of Maryland State Trooper Wesley Brown believe he is the shooter, the Washington Post reports.
The Prince George's County Police Department has not identified the man, but say Brown escorted him out of the Applebee's 30 minutes before the trooper was shot as he talked on a cell phone in the restaurant parking lot.
Brown was reportedly wearing body armor, yet a round somehow made its way to pierce his heart. A second shot struck his ankle.
