California Reinstates Body Armor Ban for Felons

The new bill signed by the governor reworded the definition of body armor to include "any bullet-resistant material intended to provide ballistic and trauma protection for the person wearing the body armor."

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a law banning body armor for felons, six months after law enforcement officials expressed dismay about a lower court's ruling that an earlier version of the ban was unconstitutional.

The new bill signed by the governor reworded the definition of body armor to include "any bullet-resistant material intended to provide ballistic and trauma protection for the person wearing the body armor," SFGate.com reports.
