A coalition of police chiefs from major cities such as Los Angeles, Houston, Phoenix, Minneapolis and Philadelphia will tell Attorney General Eric Holder why they believe Arizona's new immigration law will increase crime in U.S. cities, the Washington Post reports.
The chiefs have taken the position that the law will drive a wedge between the police and immigrant communities, and divert police from investigating more serious crimes.
The meeting, which was organized by the chief think tank group Police Executive Research Forum, comes as 15 states are considering laws similar to Arizona's.
