Opening statements are scheduled for Monday in a trial involving a former NYPD officer who was captured on cell-phone video knocking a cyclist to the ground during the Critical Mass protest event, the Associated Press reports.
Patrick Pogan, a rookie NYPD officer during the 2008 incident, is being prosecuted for purposefully knocking the cyclist to the ground and filing a false police report about it.
