The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) is organizing a rally in D.C. on Wednesday in support of a federal agent facing murder charges in the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to an association press release .
Members of FLEOA and other law enforcement officers are gathering to object to a second-degree murder charge against Special Agent Will Clark of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). This follows a similar gathering on Sept. 30.
Clark is charged with second-degree murder after shooting his neighbor Marcus Sukow in 2008. The shooting took place in the Virgin Islands when Sukow's girlfriend sought Clark's help in a domestic dispute.
Witnesses said Sukow had been drinking and threated his girlfriend and Clark with a flashlight. An ATF shooting review panel unanimously concluded Clark's actions were justified and legal, ABC News reports.
U.S. Rep. Christopher Lee (R-New York), among others, says Clark acted in self defense, reports Main Justice .
