NLEOMF To Break Ground on National LE Museum Oct. 14
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) will formally mark groundbreaking for the National Law Enforcement Museum with a public ceremony on Oct. 14 that will include an appearance by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) will formally mark groundbreaking for the National Law Enforcement Museum with a public ceremony on Oct. 14 that will include an appearance by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, according to the fund.
"Celebrating an important new chapter in the history of law enforcement, the groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the future site of the mostly underground museum," according to an NLEOMF release.
The National Law Enforcement Museum is projected to open in 2013 and will offer 55,000 square feet of space adjacent to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.'s Judiciary Square.
The museum will tell the story of American law enforcement through high-tech, interactive exhibits, collections, research and education.
The ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. (Eastern time) Thursday, Oct. 14.
