Chicago police officers are counting down the days until Superintendent Jody Weis leaves his post as the department's top cop.
Chicago police officers are counting down the days until Superintendent Jody Weis leaves his post as the department's top cop, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Bill Dougherty, a vice president with Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7 representing Chicago officers, told the paper Chicago officers were at first hopeful that Weis could change the department because he arrived as an outsider from the FBI.
"Our members cannot wait for a new superintendent to come in here and show us the leadership that's been missing under Supt. Weis," he said. "They're out there second-guessing themselves because they don't believe this superintendent has their back."
