Wisconsin Tribal Drug Investigation Adds Two More Convictions
Twenty-four defendants have now been sentenced as a result of this investigation into drug dealing on St. Croix tribal lands.
Two brothers face almost two years of incarceration for their distributing crack cocaine on St. Croix tribal lands in Wisconsin, the FBI has announced.
Louis Belisle, 27, and his brother Brandon Belisle, 29, were sentenced today to 21 months each, without parole. Brandon Belisle has previously pleaded guilty to distributing crack cocaine on St. Croix tribal lands. They are residents of Webster.
Twenty-four defendants have now been sentenced as a result of this investigation into drug dealing on St. Croix tribal lands.
U.S. Attorney Stephen Sinnott said the sentencing was the result of a long-term investigation being conducted by numerous agencies such as the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation; FBI; St. Croix Tribal Police Department; Rice Lake Police Department; Barron County Sheriff's Department; Burnett County Sheriff's Department; Sawyer County Sheriff's Department; Polk County Sheriff's Department; the Native American Drug & Gang Initiative; and Wisconsin State Patrol.
The FBI released a list of the 24 defendants who have been convicted.
