An Orange County (Fla.) Sheriff's deputy returned to duty today, slightly more than two months after he was stabbed in the neck by a suspect during a robbery at a convenience store, the agency announced.
Dep. Steve Cook, a 27-year veteran of the agency, responded to a 7-Eleven on Nov. 5 to investigate a report that an employee was stealing from the business.
Gibran Flores-Remigio, 25, attacked Cook with a "cutting instrument." The deputy then shot and killed the employee. Cook's injuries were described as life threatening.
