NLEOMF Allows Citizens To Honor 'Holiday Hero' Officers

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund encourages Americans to pay tribute to a law enforcement officer who is their “holiday hero.”

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund recently launched its "Holiday Heroes" campaign — an annual initiative to honor the nation's law enforcement officers during the winter holiday season. The campaign is intended both to remember those officers who have died in the line of duty and to recognize the courageous men and women who continue to serve in law enforcement today.

By visiting www.LawMemorial.org/HolidayHeroes, citizens may identify their law enforcement Holiday Hero and leave a tribute message for both currently-serving officers, and our fallen heroes who've lost their lives protecting others.

The tribute messages are currently on display in the windows of the National Law Enforcement Officers Visitors Center in Washington, D.C. and are viewable online. Users can also make a donation to the memorial fund in honor of their Holiday Hero.

"Earlier today, I reflected on the fact that during the holiday season law enforcement officers are called upon to ramp up their presence in the community and on the roads, forfeiting precious time with their families to ensure our safety," said Craig W. Floyd, chairman and CEO of the memorial fund.

"Holiday Hero tributes are an excellent way for everyday citizen supporters to show their appreciation for the work of law enforcement officers and to remember the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice," he added.
