Suspect Arrested After Fatal Shooting of Mississippi Deputy

Suspect Franklin Fitzpatrick of Pontotoc was arrested, after apparently scuffling with a second deputy. He has been charged with capital murder.

Tippah County Sheriff's Deputy Dewayne Crenshaw was fatally shot early Friday, after responding to a domestic disturbance call in the rural northern Mississippi county.

Crenshaw was fatally shot upon arrival at County Road 500, shortly after 4 a.m. The 62-year-old officer had 12 years in law enforcement, including seven with his current agency, reports WTVA.
