NYPD Cop Killed After Ex-Con's Deadly Shove

Officer Alain Schaberger, 42, fell about nine feet after George Villaneuva pushed him over the railing on the front stoop of his Boerum Hill home shortly before 5 a.m.

A New York Police officer was killed Sunday when an ex-con he was attempting to arrest pushed him off the front stoop of a Brooklyn brownstone during a domestic call, reports the New York Daily News.

Officer Alain Schaberger, 42, fell about nine feet onto a sidewalk and fractured his neck after George Villaneuva pushed him over a 21-inch railing on the front stoop of his Boerum Hill home shortly before 5 a.m.

Three officers were attempting to handcuff Villanueva, who was later tasered and arrested. Villanueva was arraigned Sunday night and has been charged with first-degree murder.
