A man who confessed to fatally shooting a suburban St. Louis officer because he was white received life without parole from a jury who decided to spare his life this morning, reports KMOX.
Earlier this week, Todd Shepard was convicted for shooting University City (Mo.) Police Sgt. Michael King in 2008, as the officer sat in his squad car. During his murder trial, Shepard said he killed Sgt. King in hopes of "starting a revolution."
He testified that he didn't regret the crime, had the goal of killing a white officer and would have fired another hundred rounds if he had them.
