A portable radio stolen from a Lake County (Fla.) Sheriff's deputy was used Monday to call in "officer down" and "shots fired" to dispatchers, who caught on to the prank and didn't send patrol units, reports the Orlando Sentinel.
A male voice was heard on the call at 3 a.m. Monday. The voice also called in a robbery in progress. Lake County officials were unable to locate the radio's location via the GPS chip in the device.
