Columbia, S.C., Police Chief Randy Scott emphasized the importance of customer service during a training session, saying he wants all officers to be polite, courteous and professional when dealing with the public, reports The State.
Chief Scott credited his officers, and said gruff attitudes will no longer be acceptable for his 385-member force when dealing with the public. The initiative is a move to improve the department's image following several scandals and an ongoing FBI investigation of the agency.
