The Chattanooga (Tenn.) Police Department named Mickel Hoback "Officer of the Year" in 2007. Two years later, the Iraq war veteran was fired for having post-traumatic stress disorder, reports the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
Last week, the Hamilton County Chancery Court ordered Chattanooga to give him his job back with back pay.
Following comments he gave to the local media stating he disagreed with an agency policy in mid-2009, Officer Hoback was ordered to undergo a psych evaluation that found him "unfit for duty." He was later fired.
