An Indianapolis Metro Police officer shot twice in the face during a Sunday morning traffic stop remained in a coma in critical condition, as police arrested the man suspected in the shooting.
Officer David Moore, who joined the department in 2004, was shot four times during the 9 a.m. traffic stop, reports the Indianapolis Star.
Officers later arrested Thomas Hardy, a 60-year-old felon suspected of shooting Moore on his way to allegedly robbing a 99 Cent store at gunpoint.
"When these things happen, we are sending a statement: You cannot shoot an IMPD officer and think you can get away with it," said police Chief Paul Ciesielski.
