N.C. Deputy Killed Serving Warrant with U.S. Marshals
Nash County (N.C.) Sheriff's Investigator Warren "Sneak" Lewis was fatally shot late Thursday, while attempting to serve a homicide warrant as a member of the Eastern North Carolina Fugitive Task Force.
Nash County (N.C.) Sheriff's Investigator Warren "Sneak" Lewis was fatally shot late Thursday, while attempting to serve a homicide warrant as a member of the Eastern North Carolina Fugitive Task Force.
Lewis and other local and federal officers went to a West Lenoir Avenue house in Kinston, N.C. Five suspects were arrested at the home following the standoff.
The deputy was a nine-year veteran with the sheriff's office and had served on the task force for three years.
