Some 100 sturdy young marijuana plants worth up to $2,000 each when grown were found in the back room of a Lugoff, S.C., mobile home methamphetamine lab where a woman was found shot to death over the weekend.
“They were about 18 inches tall, very green and leafy,” said Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews.
Fully mature, all of the plants could fetch up to $200,000 for its growers.
Matthews also said six or seven deputies who entered the mobile home became nauseous and were treated and released at the local hospital emergency room. Chemicals used to manufacture meth are poisonous and give off toxic fumes, which pollute the air and any material it comes in contact with, including clothing and furniture.
