L.A. County To Pay Nearly $5 Million In Deputy's Crash

Deputy Robert Moran, who is still employed and on patrol, was convicted of drunk driving and sentenced to six months in jail. During the June 29, 2008 incident, Deputy Moran was drunk and allegedly speeding when he collided with a smaller car, seriously injuring the other driver.

Los Angeles County has agreed to a $4.75-million settlement involving a sheriff's deputy who crashed his agency SUV on duty while intoxicated.
