A federal judge today sentenced the wife of a former Philadelphia police officer to more than 10 years in prison for her role in a heroin conspiracy that included two police officers.
U.S. District Court Judge Harvey Bartle sentenced Christal Snyder, the wife of former officer Robert Snyder, to 126 months (10 1/2 years) for her role in a conspiracy that involved her husband and five other defendants. Snyder, 28, pleaded guilty on Feb. 15 for her role in the conspiracy, distribution, and possession of 100 grams of heroin.
She has also admitted to one count of distributing the heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, five counts of use of a communication facility, conspiracy to commit robbery that interferes with interstate commerce, attempted robbery that interferes with interstate commerce, and use of a firearm during a crime of violence.
Snyder participated in schemes to steal and distribute heroin and attempted to steal money moving in interstate commerce at gunpoint. She reports to prison June 17.
The Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI, and Philadelphia PD jointly investigated the case.
