The New Franklin (Ohio) Police Department has hired its first full-time female officer, 37-year-old Monica Harvey.
Officer Harvey, who has worked as a part-time officer since 2009, mostly handles community policing assignments for the department, including overseeing an anti-bullying program for kindergartners, first-graders, and second-graders at Nolley Elementary School and a program on seat belt use for third-graders at Nolley and Grill Elementary School in Norton.
She is now working with the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office on a "sexting" program for middle and high school students.
