The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial will celebrate 20 years of honoring America's law enforcement officers, especially the fallen, at an anniversary gala today at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.
The gala benefits the National Law Enforcement Museum, which is currently under construction across the street from the memorial and planned to open in late 2013.
The star-studded event is being chaired by Michael Chertoff, former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and emceed by actor Richard Belzer of "Law & Order: SVU."
Other attendees include actor and National Law Enforcement Museum National spokesperson, Vincent D'Onofrio; and Daniel Rodriguez, a former NYPD sergeant who will provide the evening's musical tributes. At the gala, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund will bestow its distinguished service award to Dick Wolf, producer of the "Law & Order" television franchise.
