The disgruntled Cupertino quarry worker who fatally shot three co-workers told a friend's son on Saturday "he was going to kill some people if they were going to take away his livelihood."
The trio of Santa Clara County (Calif.) Sheriff's deputies who encountered Shareef Allman this morning fatally shot him a day after his workplace rampage. Allman was holding a handgun, while crouching behind a car in a Sunnyvale neighborhood.
Apparently, Allman, 49, believed he was the victim of discrimination at work. He had recently been transferred to the night shift. During a shift change on Wednesday morning, he opened fire on his co-workers.
Also on Saturday, Allman visited a friend in Sacramento and showed off a newly purchased AK-47 that he said he planned to use at work. Following the shooting, multiple law enforcement agencies searched for Allman in a wide-ranging manhunt .
