A Westchester County, N.Y., park was shut down earlier this week after officers scuffled with Muslims upset that women wearing head scarves were barred from the rides.
Rye Playland was packed with Muslims celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the holy Islamic month of Ramadan.
The incident began when one woman began arguing with an amusement park staff member about the park's rule banning the head scarves. Operators said the ban is not Muslim specific and was imposed to keep hats from flying off the rides.
After a scuffle with responding officers, the initial woman and two others were taken into custody.
