The Obama Administration is circulating two sets of 9/11 talking points memos — one for governments and consulates overseas and a second for domestic citizens — that provide guidelines about how to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2001 New York terrorist attacks.

In the foreign guidelines, the White House urges present the presentation of "a positive, forward-looking narrative." A White House official is quoted in the New York Times saying it's important to "show the world how much we realize that 9/11 — the attacks themselves and violent extremism writ large — is not 'just about us.'"
