Atlanta Officer Struck at Vehicle Stop Leaves Hospital

An Atlanta Police investigator who was run down at a traffic stop in July has been released from the hospital, and returned home where he is still recovering from serious injuries.

Investigator Patrick Apoian, a nine-year veteran, sufferred a fractured tibia, torn ligaments in the knee, fractured pelvis, and cracked ribs.

Police are still searching for Khalif Edwards, the man accused of running over Apoian on July 21. The incident happened near the intersection of College and Sisson avenues in northeast Atlanta. Apoian was attempting to talk to Edwards when Edwards drove off, according to police.
